Synopsis: A documentary-style look at the fictional Senatorial campaign of Bob Roberts, an arch-conservative folk singer turned politician. This political satire includes several original songs co-written and performed by writer/director/star Tim Robbins with cameo appearances by other stars as political candidates, reporters, and news anchors.

• Several famous actors make cameos in Bob Roberts, including John Cusack (whom David previously worked with in Eight Men Out), Susan Sarandon, Jack Black, Helen Hunt, and Peter Gallagher.
• Tim Robbins received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture (Comedy/Musical) for his work in the film. He also received the Political Film Society "Democracy" Award.
• Tim Robbins did all his own singing and actually co-wrote the songs heard in the film with his brother, David Robbins.
