Favorite Quotes:

• "This is a public office. Heads gotta roll." - Joe Lobruto

• "If it makes you feel any better, technically, you let a man get away with 'attempted' murder." - Joe Lobruto

Critical Praise & Commentary:
• "Peripherally involved, but adding tight, professional work are David Strathairn and Rosamund Pike as Willy's old and new bosses..." -Cody Clark, Daily Herald

• "David Strathairn (as L.A.'s district attorney) [adds] a bit of depth and luster." -Robert Denerstein, Rocky Mountain News

• "...headed by the suave Joe Lobruto (David Strathairn, in another of his wonderfully understated supporting role performances)." -Miriam DiNunzio, Aspen Times News

• "(A supporting cast that includes David Strathairn and Fiona Shaw doesn't hurt.)" -M. Faust, Art Voice

• "David Strathairn provides charismatic ballast to the supporting role of D.A. Joe Lobruto, a dedicated public servant who wishes Willy would stay in the D.A.'s office." -Dann Gire, Daily Herald

• "David Strathairn (We Are Marshall, Good Night, and Good Luck) as the head of the district attorney's office has great presence on screen." -Jason Griffin, New Movie Friday

• "You know it's a strong cast when one of the supporting actors could've easily played the lead and nothing would've been lost, as is the case with David Strathairn (Oscar nominee for Good Night, and Good Luck) as Beachum's boss; it would have been great to see the underappreciated Strathairn in Hopkins' role." -Dan Hudak, Boise Weekly

• "David Strathairn [is] solid and authoritative..." -Christy Lemire, Yahoo!

• "Hopkins, Gosling and the entire cast--which includes recent Oscar-nominee David Strathairn as the head of the DA office--turn in sharply honed yet breezy performances that keep you glued to the story, and the attention to detail in every scene is remarkable." -Steven Libowitz, Montecito Journal

• "Hoblit casts the film well, with David Strathairn harrumphing as Gosling's current boss..." -Moira Macdonald, The Seattle Times

• "David Strathairn, Fiona Shaw, Judith Scott, Bob Gunton and Zoe Kazan resonate in supporting roles." -Betsy Pickle, Scripps News

• "The only other role that makes Fracture worth seeing is David Strathairn (Sneakers, L.A. Confidential) as D.A. Joe Lobruto, Beachum's boss and a noble attorney who feels that money isn't as important as justice. Strathairn exudes the cool precision of a good attorney and left me wondering if the film's underlying message is that hotshot lawyers with fast cars and big houses are sloppy idiots, whereas humble civil servants are more deserving of a corporate attorney's salary." -Robert Seitzinger, Vanguard

• "...he tells the D.A. (played by the redoubtable David Strathairn, another indication that when it comes to acting firepower, this movie doesn't mess around.)" -Jeff Simon, The Buffalo News

• "...Willy, a prosecutor about to dump the office of the district attorney (a superb David Strathairn) for the greener pastures of corporate law." -Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

(Ryan Gosling On David Strathairn):
• "When I found out that Anthony [Hopkins] was involved, I thought, well you can't have a better partner than that. And Greg [Hoblit] did Primal Fear and then there is David Strathairn. It just seemed like there were all these elements and we had the potential to make something really interesting--a good version of it." -Ryan Gosling, co-star
