"Who decides what makes a mother?"

Synopsis: An African-American baby, abandoned by his crack addicted mother, is adopted by a white social worker, Margaret Lewin, and her husband, Charles. Several years later, the baby's mother, Khaila, now drug-free and beginning a new life, finds out her son is not dead and goes to court to fight for the return of her son.

Notes:
Losing Isaiah was originally shot for TV but ended up getting a theatrical release.
• David previously co-starred with Jessica Lange in the Hallmark television production of O Pioneers! and worked with director Stephen Gyllenhaal in A Dangerous Woman. He would also work with Samuel L. Jackson again in Twisted.
Losing Isaiah marked the "break out" role for actress Halle Berry that jump-started her career.
