DECEMBER 12, 2005: DAVID SHOOTING MATTERS OF LIFE AND DEATH

According to actor Joe Mazzello, David Strathairn has agreed to appear in his new film, Matters of Life and Death, which he wrote and will both direct and star in. The film is about a young boy named David, who must learn to adjust in raising his family in the aftermath of his parents' deaths in the 9/11 attacks. David and Joe have worked together several times, in the films The River Wild (1994), Simon Birch (1998) and, most recently, the upcoming The Sensation of Sight (2006).

On the film's website, Joe Mazzello stated the following: "The good news, however, is that David Strathairn, star of Goodnight and Good Luck and more importantly to my fans, my father in The River Wild and Simon Birch, has agreed to act in my film. Having David in my movie is an amazing, amazing thing. Not only is he the early pick to win the Best Actor Oscar for Goodnight and Good Luck, he is also one of the best actors in this business. He's certainly one of the best people. I love working with him, and I'm the luckiest guy in the world to have such a talent in my movie."

The film begins shooting December 12, 2005 and resumes for further filming in January, 2006. The film will be a short picture (roughly 15-20 minutes.) Visit the official website at www.mattersoflifeanddeath.com for more information. Dates are subject to change. Visit our ongoing page about the film here.
