A.L.S BENEFIT (06/01/1998)

Date: June 1, 1998 (Roseland Ballroom, New York, NY)Overview: David Strathairn took part in a celebrity benefit for A.L.S. (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a neurological disease that progressively inhibits speech, movement and breathing. The benefit, which took place at 6:30 p.m., was hosted by Ben Stiller and chaired by Stiller, Jane Alexander, William Baldwin and Simon Halls. Among the many celebrities who attended included Matthew Broderick, Judy Kuhn, Kristen Johnston, David Marshall Grant, Mary Stuart Masterson, Anne Meara, Penelope Ann Miller, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ron Rifkin, and Marisa Tomei.
