21st ANNUAL AMERICAN CINEMATHEQUE AWARDS (10/13/2006)

MAIN DETAILSOVERVIEWRELATED LINKS

Date: October 13, 2006 (Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills, CA)

Overview: David Strathairn taped a personal message to George Clooney that aired as part of a special tribute to his co-star and director of Good Night, And Good Luck at the 21st Annual American Cinematheque Awards on October 13, 2006. David was one of many noted actors that included Julia Roberts, Danny DeVito, Salma Hayek and Richard Kind who appeared in person or taped messages for Clooney. In his video, David appeared with a raspy voice and a pseudo-tracheotomy, praising Clooney s dedication as a writer and director. "As far as this goes," he joked, gesturing to his throat, "it's nothing. It was a small price to pay for the pleasure of working with you." Parts of the tribute were later broadcast on the American Movie Classics Channel on December 13, 2006.
