Date: June 25, 2007 (National Arts Club, New York, NY)David Strathairn at the At War: American Playwrights Respond to Iraq reading (06/25/2007) - photo copyright © NY1 | Overview: David Strathairn, along with other noted actors such as Michael Cerveris, Peter Sarsgaard and Julianna Margulies, took part in At War: American Playwrights Respond to Iraq for The Fire Dept's inaugural Salon Series. The new theatre company presented the event as its first installment of its new reading series at 6:30 p.m. on June 25 at the National Arts Club. Such playwrights as Jose Rivera, Bathsheba Doran, Cory Hinkle, Rajiv Joseph, Ryan Kelly, Peter Maloney, Lynn Rosen and Jonathan Schaefer and The Exonerated's Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen expressed their views on the war in Iraq in the works created for At War. A portion of the proceeds from the evening were donated to Campaign for Innocent Victims in Conflict. • "What the Fire Department does is they go into sites that are non-traditional for theater and present and ignite discussion and I think it's a wonderful way to get it out to people." -David Strathairn, 2007 Related Links:
