David was onhand as Good Night, And Good Luck won the Best Film of the Year Award. All awards for the ceremony had been chosen several weeks in advance of the ceremony. David had been nominated for his stirring role in the film as Edward R. Murrow.Regarding the film's win, David said, "Am I surprised? No, not really.
