David was nominated for Best Actor for his critically-acclaimed performance as Edward R. Murrow in Good Night, And Good Luck. The film was also nominated for Best Picture, Best Director (George Clooney), Best Original Screenplay (George Clooney and Grant Heslov), Best Cinematography (Robert Elswit), and Best Art Direction (Christa Munro). The film, however, did not receive any of its awards. The Best Actor win went to Philip Seymour Hoffman for Capote. It marked David's first Oscar nomination, as well as his first appearance at the awards show.Related Links:
