Stage Manager Notes: • Tony Kushner, the playwright of Only We Who Guard the Mystery Shall Be Unhappy, also wrote the acclaimed and famous Angels in America. David portrayed the playwright in a scene during the second act. • Only We Who Guard the Mystery Shall Be Unhappy created a lot of controversy in the town of Adams, MA. Some felt it should not be read at the school, calling it "anti-American."
